Environmental standards
With consideration to the environment, companies worldwide are requested to use products that comply with a number of environmental standards, and reduce their overall energy consumption to a minimum.
It is our pledge to our customers that the MicroServer series will always be a forerunner in the industry to comply with environmental standards.
Lead-free, RoHS compliant
When creating and environment management system for the ISO 14001 certification, it becomes important to abstain from purchasing of products that include environmental pollutants, especially those banned by the RoHS directive (lead, mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chromium, PBB, PBDE). The MicroServer does not include such environmental pollutants in compliance with the RoHS directive, and makes it possible to build a system with the environment in mind.
Compliance to Law on Green Purchasing (Japan)
| Plastic materials: We limit the use of hard to recycle plastics, and we use recycled plastics in upcoming products. |
Product recycling: We create easy to recycle products by using materials that are easy to reclaim, and harmonizing and reducing the materials selection. |
| Recycled paper: We use recycled paper for manuals and packaging, and consider reuse of packaging material. We avoid painting and cording. |
Documentation: We include a details on energy consumption with each product. |
On this page, the following method is used to calculate values for CO2 emissions:
Yearly CO2 emission (kg CO2) = energy consumption (W) * 24 h * 365 days * CO2 emission (0.555 kg CO2/ kWh)Concerning the CO2 emissions, we use the figure of 0.555 kg CO2/kWh set out by the Environment Ministry in the "Ministerial Ordinance regarding the Calculation of Greenhouse Gas Emission concerning the Business Activities of Specific Emittends" (METI / Environment Ministry directive #3 2006).
