Fanless to prevent malfunction
Heat dissipation is done via heat sink and aluminum case, so we can guarantee an ambient operating temperature of 40°C / 104°F. With out fan or moving parts, the device is not just silent, it also eliminates the most common source of malfunctions.
Storage option: CF card, 2.5 inch HDD / SDD
Internal ports of the device allow you to either include a 2.5 inch HDD / SDD or a CF card.
Apart from providing space for large log files, this allows to load a complete development environment with compiler and sources for native application development.

RoHS compliant
The device and all its parts are garanteed to be free of lead, cadmium, hexavalent chrome, mercury, PBB and PBDE and comply to the European RoHS directive.
Increased onboard flash ROM
The space available in the onboard flash has been doubled from the previous model to 16 MB.
The available user space for user-installed software and files has been increased to 3.6 MB. Installing smaller program packages is possible without extra storage.
DMA mode enabled for CF card / internal harddrive
Modern high speed CF card have DMA capable onboard chips. Our tests have shown that these allow to increase the data transfer speed when reading to increase by a factor of 4.72.

Aging Test - failure-free long-term operation*1
We have put both the OpenMicroServer and the OpenBlockS under a continued long-term aging stress test. The continued operation time of the test devices is continuously monitored and updated.
Test details- CPU / memory load: a file is compressed by tar-gz, then written to /dev/null
