The OpenBlockS Series
10% energy consumption
Reducing energy consumption in your systems
| Low-energy server *1 | OpenBlockS 600 | |
| Energy consumption | 87.2 W | 8 W |
| Yearly CO2 emissions | 424.1 kg CO2 | 38.8 kg CO2 |
OpenBlockS600 cosumes only 8 W during operation. Even compared to green rack servers, that is just 10%!
Instead of using a big, power hungry machine and slicing it into virtual servers, you can move your services to small, reliable and energy saving embedded devices. That way, you can bring the energy consumption of your data center to a minimum.
1000 ton carbon offset
Even though the Micro server series already has the lowest possible carbon footprint, Plat’Home decided to go one step further by supporting a carbon offset program. This program is planned to set off 1000 metric tons of CO2 in a wind energy project in Tamil Nadu, India.
| *1 | "green" low energy 1U server: PH TRQC-1/32SA (QuadCore Core2QuadQ9300 (2.5GHz), 1 GB RAM, 250GB 7200rpm SATA-II HDD), 87.22 W |
| *2 | Concerning the CO2 emissions, we use the figure of 0.555 kg CO2/kWh set out by the Environment Ministry in the "Ministerial Ordinance regarding the Calculation of Greenhouse Gas Emission concerning the Business Activities of Specific Emittends" (METI / Environment Ministry directive #3 2006). For details, refer to the law text (Japanese). Calculating the OpenBlockS per year emissions: 0.004 kW * 0.555 kg CO2/kWh * 24 h * 365 = 19.45 kg |
